Oxygen Port If supplementary oxygen is required, simply connect an oxygen tube to the 4mm oxygen port. The oxygen passes through the HME system, so there is no need for it to be pre-humidified. Normal efficiency is achieved after only a few breaths (this can be easily checked using a pulse oximeter if desired).		Unique Speech Valve This unique feature is easy to use: gently push down the sprung release valve and the stoma is effectively occluded for speech. So, you do not have to choose between an HME or speech valve for your patients... you can offer both immediately post operation with the Provox TrachPhone.
Suction/Cough Port Due to the HME qualities of the system, suctioning is reduced. However if necessary, this can be easily achieved via the suction port, without having to remove the device. This port also acts as a release valve for forced inspiration/expiration, which would otherwise result in blocked HMEs, thereby reducing replacements.
